Privacy Policy

Last updated 8 October 2026

This page explains what danielwhitmore.com does with the information you give it. There are two forms on the site and both are described below, so the short version is this: an email address if you choose to join the list, and nothing else.

Who runs this site

Daniel Whitmore runs this site. If you have a question about your information, use the contact page and say it is about privacy.

The newsletter sign-up

The newsletter form asks for one thing: an email address. You type it in, it is saved, and it stays until you ask for it to be removed or the newsletter ends. Its only use is to tell you when the next book is out.

The address is not sold, rented or handed to anyone else, and it is not used for advertising. The list is not visible to visitors of this site.

The form carries a hidden field that catches automated sign-ups. If a program fills it in, the entry is thrown away.

No name, location or payment details are collected when you sign up.

The contact form

The contact form stores nothing on this site. When you press Send, your own email app opens with the message already written. The name, email address and topic you typed go into that draft, and the message then travels between your email provider and Daniel's. Nothing is kept here.

Links to Amazon

Book links on this site lead to Amazon. Once you are there, Amazon's own privacy practices apply instead of these. Amazon handles your order, your payment details and your browsing on their site, and Daniel has no access to any of it.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no advertising cookies, runs no advertising trackers and keeps no record of how you browse. Two things are loaded from outside the site: the web fonts used for the text, and the images that have been stored for it. Both see the request for the file and the page it was asked for, which is standard for any site that loads resources from a second address.

Server logs

The company that hosts this site keeps ordinary server logs: the address of the machine a request came from, the browser used, the page asked for and the time of the request. These exist to keep the site running and to spot abuse, not to build a profile of anyone.

Your choices

You can leave the newsletter at any time by using the contact page and asking for your address to be removed. If you live in the EU, the UK or somewhere with similar data protection laws, you can also ask for a copy of what is held about you or ask for it to be corrected, and you can raise a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

This site is not aimed at children, and no sign-up from a child is wanted. If a child's address reaches the list, use the contact page and it will be deleted.

If this changes

If this policy is revised, the date at the top of the page changes with it. The newsletter promise itself is not changed to something you did not sign up for.
